When the design of the connector bridge between the Rosen Plaza and the Orlando Convention Center was being conceived, we were brought in during the design phase to develop a roof system that would provide meet the wind pressures of an open structure requiring minimal supporting steel. We developed a panel system requiring only three purlins (one on each end and one centerline (at the top of the apex) and no ceiling. We fabricated and installed Merchant & Evans Zip-Rib .050 Aluminum panels and did so in a fashion that reduced construction time and minimized road closures.
